A winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2017, Richard Trey Smagur's upcoming engagements include operatic appearances with the Metropolitan Opera and the Virginia Opera.  He is also delighted to be joining the Quarter Finals list for the 2022 Operalia Competition being held in Riga, Latvia.

Mr. Smagur makes exciting returns to the Metropolitan Opera and Santa Fe Opera later in the year, singing both of the tenor roles in Richard Wagners Der Fliegende Holländer.

Song Festival

Trey will be singing in the Tucson Desert Song Festival in January, 2023 on the 20th and 22nd.

Trey returns to the Metropolitan Opera to sing the role of Der Steuermann in the Mets remount of one of Wagners great Operas.
